|
Studies carried out by J.A. Vinson in the USA indicate that Food Base Beta-Carotene is more bioavailable than isolated chemical Beta-Carotene at 100%. Results show the Food Base to be 80% more converted to Vitamin A than the chemical form.
Studies carried out on Beta-Carotene are:
1. Vinson J.A.; "Beta Carotene Bioavailability Study", Unpublished Data, 1991.
'Re-natured ß-Carotene is more bioavailable and more metabolised into Vitamin A in the liver than USP ß -Carotene.'
2. Cahill R.J.; Mathias P.M.; Beattie S.; Hamilton H. and O'Morain C., "Beta-carotene, its effect on the colonic crypt cell proliferation in patients with adenomatous polyps", Unpublished Data., Dept. of Gastroenterology, Meath and Adelaide Hospitals, Trinity College, Dublin.
'Supplementation with 9 mg of ß -Carotene daily for one month decreases the colonic crypt cell proliferation in patients with adenomatous polyps.' |
